I am a full-time developmental editor and copy editor in NYC, and the founder of Erika's Editing, a boutique service offering an array of editorial options, along with NYS-certified translation in French, Spanish, and Kreyòl.
While Erika's Editing offers various services, my specialization is developmental editing in long-form fiction and creative non-fiction. My BA is in English, and I hold a Certificate of Editorial Study reflecting five semester-length intensives from NYU's Professional School. I'm a published author/editor and have given dozens of author talks across the Northeast. Over a decade of my experience was spent at the MLA, an elite scholarly publisher. I'm a member of the EFA, and, as a greater-Boston native, I have deep roots in New England.
During my years as an independent editor, I've worked with authors from the U.S., Europe, and Asia. My service focuses on author-editor partnership, whole-author support, and "nerdy" English-language expertise, and thus my rate is always hourly. Editing is my passion and craft; my work is my art.
